I wish that I had received better counseling along the way (I basically received none). I needed to know what types of work existed in the world and to do an assessment of my own interests and abilities. I also lacked encouragement to make the most of my talents. I recommend that students seek out counseling opportunities and engage in some personal assessment. I also advise them to believe in themselves and to be willing to venture out into the world and take risks. |
