They offered no methods classes, we were not told of the Illinois State Standards and they offered no support during student teaching. Thankfully, because of my outside experiences I did not struggle as much in my first job as did some of my classmates. I know of no one in my class that remained art teachers after graduation or their first year teaching. If you want to become an effective art teacher and want a program that will help and encourage you in becoming a great teacher I suggest that you look elsewhere. |
