I am an out-of-state sophomore, and since the day I set foot here, it has been extremely difficult to meet people. No one goes out of their way to meet people, unless you're in a sorority/ fraternity and you have some sort of connection to them. The Greeks are very arrogant and cliquish. I will say that a majority of the guys here are very easy to get along with, very friendly and open-minded towards everyone, but the girls are VERY close-minded and complete snobs for no reason. It's very hard to make friends here if you came here not knowing anyone and are not going Greek. Academically, it's challenging and you will get a good education. But as many people I have met here say, LOOKS AREN'T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM - Auburn appears to be this great place when you tour, but in reality, it's very shut off socially and there is NOTHING, let me repeat, NOTHING to do in this town, especially if you're not a big partier. |
