As with any school, it is important to make your choice with great emphasis on the living conditions and the type of student who attends. In my experience, the BU atmosphere is extremely open-minded and friendly. We have students from every background and ethnicity (hardly any black or Hispanic students, though). The city is beautiful and provides a good outlet to experience a rich life. Boston University itself seems to be undergoing a transformation. The campus is about halfway through a huge renovation which includes a new state of the art gym and coliseum and most of the hundred or so brown stones have been completely renovated (their beautiful!). The quality of students is also on the incline, excluding the College of General Studies, in the last few years, the average SAT score has risen from 1240 to 1335. The teachers are outstanding, we have more professors who graduated from Harvard than any other university. I would highly recommend BU for students who want an academically strong university that is open-minded, diverse and urban. If your looking for a quiet school that is beautifully lush, don't attend BU. |
