Coming from the Mid-west, I was intimidated by the local accents and the possibility of not fitting in. I proud to say that the group I met at PC are my best friends and outstanding people. Here are the vitals:2 to 1 girl/guy ratio5 campus bars within walking distanceGreat social environment (there are four square blocks of off-campus houses)You can find a reason to drink every night of the week, but the serious weekend festivities usually run Thur-Monday night (during football season).Beautiful women are imported from CT and New York. Thus the need for preppyness…You get used to it.Fun and competitive sports teams to watch. Men's basketball and hockey are highly competitive on the national level. It is also fun to see the women's programs. Women's hockey at PC produced more than half of the squad that one the Gold Medal. Women's basketball… you get to watch UConn.Diversity virtually non-existent and subject of many jokes on campusAt the end of the day, PC has developed a strong reputation within the business communities in the NE (read: Boston and New York). PC grads typically watchout for each other and the networking capabilities are there. One of the things not mentioned or asked for is the excellent resources in the career center. They can provide a list of PC contacts in various career fields as well as job fairs and resume help. They were instramental in getting my career started. |
