Lehman College ia typical of everything that is wrong with the NYC public education system. The vast majority of its students are products of public high schools within the city, and it shows. Attending Lehman feels EXACTLY like attending high school did. The students are apathetic and uninterested in doing their work. I've been in many classes with exam averages in the 40's. Sometimes my professors are forced to curve an exam in such a way that a score of 50 can be passing. Excessive lateness and professors having to speak over half of the class are the norm. If you're serious enough about looking for a good college that you've managed to find this website, I strongly suggest you look outside of CUNY. However, if you live within NYC, attended a NYC public high school, and never gave much thought to your college education, then Lehman is for you. |
