The University of Houston is an alright university. There is no student activity or student support of the teams. It is a commuter school so people generally don't care about much. However, the architecture school is a totally different experience. Everyone here is real friendly and outgoing. There is a heavy sense of family since most of us stay here long into the hours of the night. Most of us have a lot of fun. We're not like the rest of UH. However, it is real competitive. The freshman class starts out with 200 people. By the time the first semester is over, 30-40 have already dropped or been dismissed due to grades. In the end, perhaps only 20-30 students will actually graduate. You have to be willing to work on a project for 5-12 hours a day everyday until the last day of the semester. We go to school on holidays too. We are here during Thanksgiving and Spring Break. But like I said, we become a family, so its all just one big party. Feel free to email me any questions you might have about UH or Architecture. |
