Professors demonstrated a loving and helpful spirit in all my dealings with them. I graduated in 1984 and immediately had several offers from the largest accounting firms in several cities. Years later when I applied for grad school, I was accepted by 4 out of 5 that I applied to into a PhD program (all of which were in the top or second "tier" of accounting programs in the nation). Lack of accreditation for BJU was never an issue with any of my employers or with any of the grad schools. I suspect that those who have trouble getting into grad schools or have trouble getting jobs either didn't have high enough scores on standardized tests or failed to get acceptable letters of reference. Add in such variables as the economy, in-state preferences, and communication skills, and there are many reasons that a potential graduate student might get rejected by a grad program at a "state" school other than because of a lack of accreditation. |
