Those who have complained about it in other reviews are probably not taking advantage of what it really has to offer. I transferred from a Cal State and have been blown away by the differences. USC is extremely challenging academically and provides the student with a strong background in GEs. I'm used to cruising thru my GEs and find the ones at SC to be some of the toughest. You can't slip anything past the professors and if you care at all about your education, you appreciate that. The students are very competitive, which pushes you to do well and find new an innovative ways to learn and grow. I was a near 4.0 GPA at a Cal State. I worked hard for my grades. But, now I understand how grades shouldn't come that easy. I'm working my butt off at USC and its really difficult to get any positive praise. Though discouraging, it is helping me to grow leaps and bounds. I used to have the perfect study formulas to acheive my "A", but now, I'm taking the bitter pill of rejection. No skating here. You have to earn it in more ways than one. I hate it at times, but I know I'll be much more equipped for the future. Whenever I've met USC students in the past, I recognized a quiet confidence about them. Now I understand how it was gained. |
