As a current student at Ohio Wesleyan, I feel particularly prepared to write a review on the college. Ohio Wesleyan is an imperfect institution with all the typical trappings. Administrators are not always in tune with the needs/wants of the students. Students are not always consulted about decisions affecting them. The food sucks. However, what I think differentiates OWU from many other schools is the constant struggle over these issues. Wesleyan students recognize the imperfections of our institution and work to change them. We constantly regard our campus as a community of which we are all a part; problems here are *everyone's* problems, and solutions necessarily need to include everyone. What makes Ohio Wesleyan a beautiful place to live, work, and learn is this element of community; while it may not be realistic to expect to live in such a close, positive community in the real world, it's a welcome opportunity for a college career. |
