The majority of students and professors are nice and down-to-earth. As in every school, there are a handful of students who are snobby or crazy and a few professors who could be a little more considerate, but overall I love it. There is a stereotype that most of the students at Cedar Crest are lesbians (since it's an all-woman college), but that's not the impression I get after going there 3 years. Granted I don't live in the dorms, but if I had to guess the statistics would be more like 5-10%. I haven't seen any homophobia or difficulties between gay and non-gay people. It's a pretty open minded place with quite a few students from other cultures (Middle-Eastern, Japanese, and Hispanic are the most prominent). I'd recommend it to almost anyone, especially people going into the sciences. The Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Forensics, and Dance programs are very popular and good here. |
