The university has many great things about it, but it lacks many things. In general, it is very over rated in terms of the social life outside the class room. I find it to be quite boring here and the parties are nothing to write home about. Chapel Hill is pretty small. The classes are hard and require you to spend a great deal of time outside the class room studying and I mean a great deal of time. In some ways, it is easy to cheat, some students do it, but that is another topic. The students are friendly, but one will run into a whole cast of unusual people from far far far left wingers to far far far right wingers to even white and black racists individuals. Overall, my past two years at UNC would mount up to a B-. It was not what it is cracked up to be and not what I expected it to be. Some students and administrators make things nice and rosey, but then once you get on campus, you find out what the real deal is. |
