F-U! F-U, F-U , F-U! F-U! F-U! I am going to be a senior this fall and it will be a sad, sad day when I pack my bags and leave The Bronx. I was very hesitant moving to New York City from small town New England and the transistion was daunting at times but it was completely worth it. I made a fantastic bunch of friends. My experience as a History major was definately rewarding especially working in my seminar class. Social life is great. There are lots of clubs and teams to join and a good bar scene off campus in the Belmont area of the Bronx, basically on Arthur Ave. However, if you can get the people and money together to grab a cab do make it up to Woodlawn to hit the pubs. It's certainly worth it. Don't let the Bronx intimidate you from applying, the campus is safe and the surrounding area is definately not a ghetto. The Jesuits are great guys and are very involved in campus life. Going to College in New York is very expensive but awesome. I've been to some of the best bars, ate at incredible restruants, and seen U2, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen in concert. |
