I would like to reinstate that the prevalence of crime in this town is quite horrific. On the campus tour the guides certainly did not inform us as to the large number of crimes committed against students, but please be aware that although on the facade the town appears quiet and safe, living there is a different story altogether. There are no truly safe districts or areas of town; the rampant crime in Savannah does not limit itself to exclusive boundaries. Prospective students should also take into account that as of 2001, in the Morgan Quitno National Violent Crime Rankings compiled from FBI Crime Reports, Savannah is rated 32nd in the nation out of 270 cities for the most violent crime in a metropolitan area. These statistics can be viewed online at morganquitno.com/met01alph.pdf. |
