Statistical Analyzer:

Some majors at PCC have well-trained and experienced instructors and facilities for students to get practical, useful training—such as Nursing, Elementary Education, Engineering, and Computer Science. But many majors have instructors who became teachers immediately after graduation and have no experience working in the real world (and they have deans over entire academic departments who have never worked outside the college either).

Everything has the influence and slant of the college administration's own closed-minded beliefs and personal standards. And the rules and standards will be the largest issue that students deal with every day—but the college won't let you know what the rules and policies and standards are before you attend. The atmosphere is stifling—it feels like an extension of your childhood. You are paying to get an education, and yet the college doesn't provide true freedom for students to grow and to learn because they don't treat their students like adults.

PCC is also not accredited. This has the potential of causing problems for you if you wish to pursue post-graduate work, or if you decide that PCC is not for you and you try transfering your credits to another college. It also may affect your ability to get a job after college.

I do not recommend PCC. There are other Christian colleges (like Liberty, Tennessee Temple, Union University, and Cedarville, just to name a few) that may cost more, but you'll have a better quality eduction overall. If you're considering attending PCC, visit the campus before you register and don't be afraid to ask questions to students and faculty. If you sense any hesitation in their responses or that they either aren't being completely honest with you or they just aren't telling you the whole truth—it should be an immediate warning flag to you that something isn't right.

Also, call the college admissions office and request a copy of the Student Handbook (the actual rules and policies students are required to follow and obey while they attend PCC), and not a copy of the college catalog either—ask for it by name:

Remember that in life you get what you pay for. If you want a quality college education, perhaps you should seriously consider paying a bit more for it in order to be in an environment where you're treated like an adult. In the end, you'll be glad you did. But if you go to PCC, yes, you'll save money, but you must consider how 4 years of PCC's influence with them as the authority over you is going to affect every area of your life—emotional, physical, mental, spiritual—for the rest of your life.

You've read the comments here and see an overwhelming opinion that discourages other students from choosing PCC. Don't just dismiss it as disgruntled former students venting their frustrations. Notice that the majority of the complaints are legitimate concerns and that they are coherently and intelligently written. That many negative criticisms should tell you something.

Invest in your future—use your money more wisely and go to some other college.
