Your a number, and a number that has never been heard of nor conceived of for that matter. The school made it a personal goal to leave me in the dark about everything, be warned if your considering, you will have to do everything. They wont tell you if your payments didn't arrive, they will drop your classes on a whim accordingly. They will not properly explain registration, parking, fees, roommate selection, etc. The teachers are hit or miss, and when they are "miss" they are truly fabulous disappointments exemplifying the schools general apathetic, indifference to the students. The worst can also be down right mean. Not a quality to personify a good professor by any means. Crime is also a more often occurring matter, and students are kept aware of the dreadful rapes and robberies occurring semi weekly via the school email service (eden). And by all means a disgruntled account of Rutgers could not be complete without mentioning the bus system, the fact that a bus system is needed should be enough warning yet rest assured they are a royal pain. Now to balance out this morbid dissertation I’ll mention the school does have many majors, 4 star fitness facilities, rather snappy dinning/fast food services, understanding and pleasant staffing, and a good many activities and social diversions. As a Jersey born and raised character, I wish I could speak highly of my home state's public university, but I can not. The bad outweighs the good at Rutgers and I recommend to anyone considering the place one of two options, one: choose a smaller school (~9,000 total or less) that’s on one central campus (the buses, along with the shear number of students will screw you out of classes you want). Two: if your set on a larger perhaps urban campus, my god find a school that is at least in a location that is worth visiting and doesn’t have homeless people and crime all over. Go to a better school, where you can learn, have fun, and meet wonderful students and teachers that will help you reach your potential, even if that school doesn’t have the name brand value. Make sure you'd want to be in the area even if you werent in school there. |
