I came here expecting a smart and driven student body. GWU proclaims to be worldclass, but it's not. I was a freshmen in the Politics and Values L&L Program w/ Kelts and it was really demanding but I learned a lot. Yet this was the only worthwhile class. All other classes had either 300+ students or a professor who spoke broken english and who didnt care about undergraduates. The city is the school's best assest - campus administration and registration is one big red tape process. I had trouble getting into all of my classes - and they werent good anyway. The services, especially the food, were absolutely TERRIBLE. The first year dorms are also in poor condition and are much smaller than they tell. I even had a bathroom i shared w/ 6 ppl that i was told would just be for me and a roomate. the $40K pricetag is simply outrageous when you consider how little you in fact get for it! It may be trendy now - but beware - STAY AWAY FROM GWU! It was truly one of the biggest mistakes of my life going there. The student body is pathetic - especially those note in honors level programs. Students are far less intelligent and academically honest than I expected. Students cheat and plagiarize left and right. Many are self-absorbed for no valid reason. I transferred after one semester - this school left me depressed and miserable - despite my great anticipations i had for it during the summer before i enrolled. By the way, the colonial inauguration/orientation is an absolute waste of time and money - i came a day late and i still thought it was pathetically long and inefficient. Truly, this school has some perks - but is a total disappointment given what you expect it to be! The 3 months of my only semester there were the worst months of my life - BEWARE OF GWU! |
