I came from a very small town in New Jersey, located 62 miles from New York City, so coming to GW and to an "urban" campus was initially a shock. However, within a very short time from my arrival I fell in love with GW.

My makor was in Economics, with a minor in Political Science, and I was completely satisfied with the professors, the facilities, and my fellow students.

During the summer of my junior year, I participated as an intern in the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services, involved in the area of healthcare fraud containment and complex investigations. I learned a great deal, and I was able to stay on campus during the summer and ride the Metro to my internship. I also did a Fall senior year internship with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.

All I know is the school was great, the dorms are fantastic, the facilities are super clean and well-maintained, and I got along great and met some super friends that I'll know forever. If there is a downside issue it is probably that you are not in a rural country setting with woods and fields and lawns all around. But virtually the entire Northwest part of the city is GW, and once you're there you start to realize what GW departments or functions are in all of the buildings. The only other thing I would mention is that I was a soccer player in high school, so I joined a club soccer program. I also pledged a fraternity, and I actually met some great people (not drunkards, like you would think). Students are smart and talented, and I loved my four years there.

I am now a law school student in Boston and would one day like to be a prosecutor addressing fraud matters and economic crimes. Good luck!
