I transferred to Tulane after my Freshmen year of College. I have to say that it was the best decision I ever made. Making friends was easy. Everyone is extremely friendly. The school is what you make of it. This school expects you to be independent and know what you have to do in order to graduate. It does not hold your hand and tell you each class you may take. Tulane can offer you an amazing education, but you have to put up the effort. It is possible to take all easy classes, go to about half and still pass. However, it is also very easy to fail your classes if you decide to skip them. The faculty are extremly helpful and really want the best for you. If you show them you care, they will do everything they can to help you out including help you find a job after college. Almost all of my teachers knew my name whether I talked a lot or not. I remember one professor that I had in the business school in a class with over 100 people in my class. He would pay us a quarter, then 50 cents and then 1.00 if he forgot our name. I got a quarter, and he never forgot my game again (even two years later). I would say that most of my classes were in the range of 20 to 35 students. I only ever had one class with over 150 students.

Tulane is also in a great location. Not only is it located in New Orleans, but it is also located directly across from a great park and within walking distance of the zoo. Downtown is just a short streetcar ride away. You really do not need a car in New Orleans, but I have to admit that it is nice to have. Parking can be difficult though.

There is something to do everynight of the week (mostly drinking) There are many other activities as well, but for the most part, the bars are the biggest attraction for students. Tulane sporting events are fun, but not that of a state school. They need more support from the student body. I highly reccommend going to them. The school is small enough that you probably will know a couple of the athletes. Go support them and learn the school song as well as some other chants. I still enjoy keeping track of the sports especially baseball even though I have graduated. Too bad that the football games are in the superdome. It sucks that you have to find a ride to get there. If you have a car you can pick up free parking passes at the UC. If you are like most students, you don't have much money and it is worth saving as much as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I will give you an honest response. Your college years could be the best of your life (I never really understood this until I graduated) I loved Tulane, and I would do it all over again if I could!
