The student body is made up mostly of Christians, a few of whom can be a little closeminded sometimes. I am an atheist and a religion major so this can be bothersome occassionally, but people are so friendly in the south even if you are different that it really isn't much of a problem. Greek life is huge here. I think the percentage of greek students is around 60%. Even if you don't join a Greek organization you can still participate in their activities though. But if you plan on coming here and are unsure whether you want to be involved in a sorority or fraternity, you might want to reconsider, it can be a bit suffocating here at times. |
