Statistical Analyzer:

Etown is an alright place. It's definitely not for everone, though. As a whole it's a little superficial. For example, the people are generally pretty nice, but it's very cliquey. There's virtually no social life here—most people either watch movies in their dorms or binge drink on cheap beer on a Sat. night and a large portion of the school goes home. A vast majority of the students are from the central Pa region so it there isn't much diversity except for international students. This leads to a homogenous outlook and not much orignality.

In general the profs alright—nothing to pay 30k+ a year over. A lot of them are unispired from teaching the same classes repeatedly or are adjuncts of varying quality. The truly horrible profs can usually be found teaching the core classes. Core here is absurd because there are so many requirements and not enough classes offered each semester. Also, the classes are too large, especially for a small school that claims to have small class sizes.

Basically there are too many freshmen that are admitted every year, so the individual, small school benefits and quality are going down. There's a big push to make the school more well known, yet what's already on campus is being neglected. This is evident in the dorms particularly. They're crowded, antiquated and filthy with surplus freshmen living in 'trasitional housing' which consists of the lounges.

If you don't mind not being very challenged and living in a bubble then this school is probably great. Though if you're active and want to grow personally and scholastically there are better ways to spend your money and time.
