And contrary to other opinions, I did learn how to think. My profs didn't shy away from controversial topics. Rather, they encouraged students to think arguments through to their logical ends. Some of the best classes I attended were Logic, Ethics, Rhetoric, and Critical Writing. All advocated sorting out and analyzing one's philosophy so that one could present a reasoned argument should s/he be challenged on any point. Per the request of this website, I will not comment on other students' reviews . . . except to say I am 99.99% certain that the post dated May 05 was made tongue-in-cheek by someone who has never attended BJU. If the comment was posted by an alumnae/i, it is certainly not representative. While those in BJU circles may disagree wholeheartedly with other religions, even some "Christian" doctrines, they do love the people and pray for them to come to salvation. If this is not their heart attitude, then they have missed the whole point. |
