There are a lot of good things about TCU, but overall it's not a very good school if your parents don't have a 6-figure income. The financial aid office doesn't like to talk to students and try to help as little as possible. You are expected to check their website daily, just in case you need to fill out some paperwork. They will not notify you if they need a paper signed by you. You will receive notification only after it's overdue. When you have a question about financial aid, you can expect to be sent to the financial services office…then back to financial aid. Then, they'll be very annoyed at you for interrupting their day and give you the common answer to every financial aid problem: "Your parents must have missed a payment." If you don't plan to join a sorority or a frat, you might want to reconsider coming to TCU. Every weekend, the campus is basically empty because everyone leaves for frat and sorority parties. There really aren't any activities on campus for non-Greek students. You need a car at TCU, because there's really nothing to do within walking distance.
