I think that USC has a lot of work to do to make itself the 'world-class' university it claims to be, and to make the high price of tuition worth it, but it also has a lot going for it too. While (being an architecture major) I absolutely hate the buildings on campus, those who are not architecture majors seem to like them a lot, so I may be being too picky. I did not have a good dorm experience, but know many people who did. The architecture program is extremely demanding, and they bring in some well known architects to teach studios, which helps out in one of USC's strongest points- connections! The school of architecture is very well known throughout the local architecture community, and for architecture right now, Los Angeles is the place to be. While everyone else reads articles and sees photos of all the great (and terrible) things that are getting built here and have their opinions corrupted by their professors' agendas, we get to see them in person and form our own opinions. |
