I strongly recommend attending a solid, fundamental Christian college, and I strongly recommend that you carefully look at your options. If you go to BJU, go because God wants you to go, not because you have been told it is the "only" or "the premiere" Christian college. It is a wonderful school, but there are other wonderful schools, too.

If the Lord directs you to BJU, be very careful to guard against the spiritual pride and arrogance that can easily enter your heart by hearing that you are "the cream of the crop" and hearing that you are attending a school that graduates men and women "who are more polished and godly" than their sister institutions. You will face the danger of being led to believe that your discernment level is superior to your youth group friends, family memebers, etc., who have chosen another educational path. If you do not guard your heart, you will absorb what you hear, and you will graduate as many others have from this fine place, believing that you truly are better than others. It's a prideful attitude that will rob you of the true knowledge of God's awesome grace, and it will harm your testimony and the work of the Lord in ways you cannot imagine. It is an attitude that will keep you from serving God effectively in all corners of the world, and has the potentiol of holding you prisoner to the "safety" of the BJU culture where you have been programmed to believe the "best and most spiritual" reside.

On a side note, I would caution you about the lack of manliness, as a whole, among the men at BJU. I am increasinly distressed to observe the effeminacy level of the male students. The strong fine arts program of the university may be fostering some of this, but whatever the reason, it is a definite concern that is worth noting.

The Lord bless you as you prayerfully consider such an all-important decision. Whatever you do, I cannot advise you enough to attend a fundamental Christian college where God and His Word are exalted. Visit several schools. Each campus will have its own specific strengths and weaknesses, and the Lord will use those to direct you to the place where He can grow you most effectively. You can be confident that BJU exalts the Lord and His Word, and that makes it a great option. Some other campuses I highly recommend visiting would be Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Clearwater Chrisitan College, and Northland Baptist Bible College.
