Upon graduating from HS I wasn't expecting to attended PCC. Fortunately I did, and am satisfised w/ the way things have worked out. I would argue that if youre uncertain as to what your major will be the best thing to do is to attend PCC. Its better to pay JC tuition than CS/UC tuition for GEd courses. Take all the GEs here, but make sure that you dont waste your time w/nontransferable classes. Most of the classes are challenging (go to rate my professor), but sometimes I wish students would be more involved (ie participate in class discussions, join clubs, etc). Since most students work and have heavy class schedules, the social scene is dry. Campus food sucks, and parking sucks. It is a diverse campus, but you will find less diversity in the science classes and upper math classes. I took chemistry and most of my peers were asian females, likewise in anatomy. Alwz, during the first few wks of the semester you will find the campus scene hectic, but after three wks most slackers drop out.Try to communicate w/prof., they are helpful and many care.Join a club, create a network (so you can share bks, notes, etc), stay focus and you ll be out in 3yrs the most. |
