I expressed my interest in voting for John Kerry for president in one of my classes. My professor and fellow students were appalled at me, as they each that "liberals" are in some way evil, and that any indication that you would vote Democrat would be frowned upon. As a result, I was chastized and abused by fellow students. I was demerited for practically anything on a daily basis and was not allowed to leave campus even on weekends-I felt like a prisoner and was seriously afraid. I was told by a professor that things may change if I would simply say that I would vote for president Bush. Finally, I could not take being a prisoner anymore and dropped out in late October. All I can say is that this was the worst academic/spiritual/psychological event in my life. I want to forget I ever even heard about BJU and go on in my life to be a good Chrisian, something that this school does nothing of the sort. |
