This school is big enough that if you are deliberate about it you can find your niche and a good group of friends. Parking's a pain, integrated studies classes pretty much suck, and I had a class or two (Accounting, Earth science) with several hundred students. Otherwise, though, being in the Honors College was a benefit because you get to sign up for classes first and you can choose which of those enormous classes you really want to take. I liked East Lansing's accessbility, though some city residents aren't too happy about the number of students and they'll pass noise laws, etc., to make that known. Lansing is an asset for aspiring politicos or (like me) city beat reporters. |
