To the poster who attended Northeastern a long time ago: The campus and the surrounding area have CHANGED significantly since you attended. Northeastern is no longer a "commuter school." Most of the students live on campus now. The campus is absolutely gorgeous and the area around the school is now one of the safest and most expensive areas in Boston. A one bed room rents for over $1500 per month. Northeastern is also a significantly better school both academically and administratively. The university dumped its old quarter calendar in favor of a traditional semester calendar, reduced class sizes (the entering class was reduced from 4500 students to 2800 students). Northeastern has become significantly more selective. The acceptance rate is a low 40% and the average SAT score has risen by 200 points in the last few years. You should take another look at Northeastern. I doubt that you would recognize the place.
