Wrong! Because of lax admissions standards A&M students by the most part are not very smart. They are from very small insular Texas towns and A&M is a place for their insular beliefs to continue, hence the "A&M Bubble." Aggies are for the most part nostalgic to a fault, fearful of outside influence, and have the tendency to follow the flock. They have a delusional Texas pride that is very off putting. The administration is suffering because they employ former students from small towns who try to enforce their holier-than-thou attitude into everything. Do not be fooled look very closely before coming here. If you are not from Texas (or surrounding states) it will be hard. Most people come with a group of 20 of their best high school friends. Also if you are coming to A&M because of its conservative atmosphere beware. As a republican from the north i wanted to come to a conservative school…bad move. They have no clue why they have these beliefs. They are very judgemental if you don't attend church. They are insular and arrogant. For all these reasons I will be transferring to Northwestern in the fall. |
