The school as a whole is descent. It's clean, easy to be involved with, and students are free to be themselves. My biggest complaint is the other students at the University. In short, most of them are so arrogant and close-minded it's amazing. So many people think they are so rich and great, but they really are nothing special (for the most part). I can't believe how much priority these students place on having money. Another problem is their attitudes in general. They have grown up with a descent amount of money and think they can judge others that are not so fortunate. I can't believe how many people I talk to that will tell you that they hate blacks and mexicans, arguing that blacks have been given hundreds of years to "catch up", and haven't, so they must be unequal! These people are ridiculous. Away from these students (which are mostly business majors), are the engineering majors (again, I'm not trying to stereotype everyone, just talking about majorities). You hear horror stories about how hard engineering is, and how much time must be spent on homework. This is bullshit. I've pulled a 3.9 gpa without hardly any effort. Not to be conceded, but it really isn't that hard. The teachers have to dumb down the difficult concepts so much that they are no longer difficult. It's not that the students aren't smart, they can just really on the curve to just barely get by in the class. Other than some of the students, ASU is a great school. I have learned to just stay away from these people. The great thing is that with such a huge stuudent population, there is a group for almost everyone. The party scene would be great, but you always run into these wanna-be's I discussed above, so I usually just end up drinkin with a couple buddies on the weekends. |
