There are far too many negitive reviews here to do this unversity justice…if you are thinking about Wake… LISTEN UP. Yes, there is a homogeneous population here. I am white so i am not going to preach about being a different ethnicity and what campus life is like. However, the average student at Wake is by no means close-minded. It is far too difficult to get in to Wake to allow truly ignorant people. So please, do not look at wake just because of the mostly caucasian student body. Yes, there are a great deal of conservatives here but i fail to see that as a limitation. No one will try to brainwash your ideas and slap a "W" sticker on your car. There is a great deal of wealth here. But the point of college is to be educated and not comparaing each others material means. Greek life is big but it won't keep you from froming friendships. I didn't pledge but many of my friends did and it put nothing between us. Academics are great despite the well earned nickname Work Forest. My advice…time managment. I guess that i am trying to stress the importance of realizing that some negitive aspect of Wake are common on some level to all universities. Wake students are smart, educated, and generally friendly and warm (especially to newcomers). Please look at Wake. I love this university and hope that everyone who looks at this site will visit Wake and not be discouraged by negitive comments.
