Because of the spartan campus life, BJU is obviously not for everyone, even some with strong Christian beliefs. However, the disciplined nature of the school did have advantages for me. The structure of the school helped change me from a very undisciplined, procrastinating high school student into a serious college student who got up at 7AM on Saturdays and finished all of his reading assignments for the next week by noon. I honestly think I read every word of every text in every class I took, and I only missed one class in four years.

I did not agree with all of the school's ideology, such as their views on dating and music, but I conformed to their standards. The biggest negative for me was the attitude of many of the students that if you don't completely agree with them, you are wrong. Thankfully, most of my professors were more open-minded than that.

If I had to do it all over again, I would still go there, but I can only recommend it to students who know what they are getting into.
