You are relatively free to pursue a more personalized course of study, and the general atmosphere tends towards laid back. Small class sizes no doubt contribute to good faculty accessibility. The administraton, including the deans, are also easily accessible. If you choose to, you can easily get personal assistance from the faculty or staff. The social life does leave much to be desired, however, due to the small student population and the local area. Most people lack cars, so getting out of Claremont (a necessity for your sanity) can be a chore. On-campus socialization involves mainly small group get-togethers and some larger school-sponsored parties on weekends. These parties aren't so great if you're not into dancing to bad music while drinking bad beer. At least the beer is free… |
