While my undergrad degree had little to do with what I did upon graduation, I expected that before attending. After all, you should attend this school because you want to be a Coast Guard officer, not because you want to be a politician—at least not immediately upon graduation. While there is an underlying climate of arrogance among the student body, that is to be expected when one considers that this school is consistently rated the most selective in the nation. That is not to say that the students are overtly snobbish, and you will make some great friends there and discover that even the "stuck-up" kids are willing to work with you to get the job done.

Overall, a great experience and good choice for your future employment, if you're willing to dedicate your time and energy to make it through!
