Tough call here. I was a California kid with no immediate family military experience and had the shock of my life going to the Academy in July 1994. I was bright in High School and got excellent grades, but part of the shock was that EVERYbody at the Academy is bright. It's a tough school, academically, militarily, and emotionally. What kept me in was the network of friends that I'll never lose touch with. I've succeeded beyond my wildest expectations and went from restricted cadet formation to Military Pilot in what seems like the blink of an eye and I've not looked back. Memories, yeah, I've got 'em. Not all fond, but if you truly want the experience of a lifetime, good, bad, and ugly, this is the place for you.
