This school is a great intro to college life. It's not at all challenging, but if you are a first year student, that's okay. I personally felt unchallenged in regular course work, so I am completing the honors program, and still have time to work full time. The school is very understanding of working students. I have had great profs and horrible profs..but that is why they make it so easy to change your schedule in the first week! If you don't like your prof, all you have to do is show up to the class that you want to take, and petition to be on the roll sheet. It's great. I have found it really easy to make friends here, maybe it is because I made an effort to (since I knew no one in CA), but most all of the friends I have made in the town are from school. About half of the student body are fresh out of high school-living off of their parents-don't know what the hell they are going to do with their lives so they went to community college, but the other half are really cool, interesting people with goals and intelligence. There are so many different types of classes to take here..the surf class is awesome. Laird rocks. You get 2 credits to go surfing twice a week..how stoked are you? |
