I love Texas A&M because this college has very high standards when it comes to the coursework and professors it hires. I graduated from the college of science so my comments pertain to this part of the school. The competition is cutthroat. The professors say they are accessible, but they are so intimidating no regular person seeks them out. Professors are great lecturers, but most exams are difficult because there isn't much correlation between concepts in lecture and exam questions. I had the experience of receiving a great education from the lectures but my grades don't reflect it. Unfortunately other schools are not as competitive and difficult, so when applying to grad school you'll find people who went to the "easy schools" have a major advantage. The majority of the students appear very xenophobic and conservative. Texas A&M is more like a tough corporate environment than a friendly campus. |
