It hasn't helped but it really hasn't hurt either. All the programming languages I learned aren't the latest and greatest. The technology I learned on CERTAINLY wasn't the latest and greatest. I learn very little on Object Oriented Programming, we only had one class on that. There was only one class on web programming, and it was just an elective, not even a required part of my courses.
