A lot of people have written about the dress code, mandantory chapel attendence, etc., so take that as you may. However, please understand, this place is a creampuff, academically. I attended a medium-sized state institution before coming here, but it seemed like Harvard after coming here. Professors really do care about you, but they have absoluately no choice but to seriously dumb-down the coursework. Be assured—this university is tens of millions in debt, and one of their plans to get out of it is to admit as many tuition-paying students as possible. People have noticed—just look at how far this university has slipped down on the US News rankings tables. This didn't happen by accident. It's hard to write this, but I have to be honest—the quality of student here, and the resulting level of academics are slipping badly. So, what can I say? If you want to get an easy "A," which will look great on your transcript, this is a good choice for you, but if you want to be challenged by your classmates and professors, this really isn't the place. |
