Obviously, it's student code is widely known for being very strict and its religious affiliations are quite conservative. However, the rules are not unbearable and do have their benefits (i.e. not allowing rock music can be annoying but also makes for much easier studying; likewise, the curfew is limiting but does force you to get more sleep). I've also been quite impressed with the tolerance of diverging viewpoints in the classroom. Unlike secular schools, BJU does not try to be "politically correct," but as long as you are not openly rebellious, they will not force you to accept their views. (That's not to say they won't tell you their views.) Basically, if you are a conservative evangelical and do not mind submitting to a strict set of rules, you will quite enjoy your time at BJU. |
