That's becoming far less true with each passing year. The university has several campuses, many outstanding programs, resources, and modern facilities of all types. There are still more commuters than your average campus, but a huge amount of resources are put into things to do. Many are lame, but no less lame than those on any other campus. The campus police and the rules in general are a little more strict than some others—it's not a party school. It's in the middle of Fairfax and not in the middle of a farm, so the have good reason for their rules. The key to enjoying GMU is to figure out a program of study you enjoy (we have almost everything) and then get involved with Student Government, Greek Life, or almost any organization on campus. Also, be prepared to attend the most diverse campus in the country. |
