Come to school here with the capacity for advocacy, and the will to put forth the effort to create reciprocity within the school…in other words, don't expect situations to be handled for you. The University will remove you in an instant even if by their own fault. The faculty at Howard is pretty good, they come from all over the place, and are influencial (some more than others) in their discipline. Every now and then you'll run into a teacher who understands the material so well, that they can't teach it the way you need to learn…this is where advocacy comes in, it's imperative that you advocate for yourself and the others that you know, even though it sounds corny, the people that you go to school here with will become somewhat of a family to you, so do not buy into the individualism that is ruining us today…come to hu with the desire to learn and live and help out ur fellow man (yea it still sounds corny…). |
