I am part of Liberty's Distance Learning Program, so I cannot comment on campus life or anything like that. However, Liberty has HORRIBLE technology. This is huge as a DLP student.

Most of the videos are WAY out of date. Liberty has "updated" some of the content, but all they really did is delete a few minutes off the end of the lecture. The tapes and DVDs are of HORRIBLE quality. In fact, I have a number of lecture tapes where the sound and/or video cuts out for an extended amount of time. The instructors aren't open to student needs or suggestiosn (for the most part). I e-mailed a professor about inaccuracies in his tests, and he refused to admit to the problems. Other instructors are completely unconcerned with their students and do a horrible job teaching. The majority of them, from what I can tell, have little to no knowledge in their respective fields.

Advisors are impossible to contact. I've made numerous e-mails and phone calls to advisors and not heard a single thing back from them about important issues. They are out of the office for half the day (convocations, lunch, etc) and aren't generally very helpful when you CAN get a hold of them. In fact, every single time I've actually spoken with my advisor, she's caused even more problems for me. And then, of course, getting the problems addressed was impossible.

The courses were very elementary and had content which was below the quality you'd expect from even a high school course. Many of my courses from other schools didn't transfer, even though they were MUCH more in-depth than the relative Liberty courses.

I had ONE fantastic course at Liberty, which was Old Testament Survery with Dr. Ed Hindson. Truly the best course I've even taken, and I watch his lectures for entertainment sometimes (and for review). All the other courses, though, were of very poor quality.

I once had to correct my Evangelism professor on a number of issues, and he was very arrogant and unwilling to admit that perhaps his teachings weren't perfect. Of course, the rest of the class was willing to follow whatever the professor said. He is a young, arrogant professor who lacks knowledge and understanding even in the most basic of Biblical interpretation principles.

I'm not finished with Liberty quite yet, but thus far, it has been an entirely horrible experience, save that one great course I took. I am sincerely miserable attending this school, and would transfer out in an instant if I wouldn't have to sacrifice even more credits. If you're considering Liberty University, PLEASE, for your own sake, look elsewhere. My father and my sister both attended and warned me of some of the problems, but I ignored their warnings and chose Libery over Moody in Chicago. Oops.
