Although I am not in the greek system, being in a fraternity or sorority provides an easy venue to make friends, which can be difficult on a campus of nearly 25,000 undergrads. Another thing: UM is a big school. After a few weeks though, I began to feel more at home here, seeing the same people after classes, being in the same buildings day after day, etc. Although at first the size was overwhelming, I quickly got over it and would strongly urge you NOT to let the large size of UM discourage you from attending here. Once you select a major, the school seems much smaller. |
