This is probably the only policy at RIT that is steadfast. The school and its classes are run like a bad city government. Those with money and connections get ahead and those with the real knowledge are left behind. Kiss ass and spend lets of money and you’ll do fine. Want to earn an education and get ahead on your own merits? Then keep away from RIT! The professors are arrogant and the administrators treat each student as a source of income, not as a student. One would think that with the outrageous tuition and fess assessed from each student each year, RIT would have top-notch facilities and provide an exceptional education. This is not true. Computer and lab equipment is absolute crap. It’s one thing to work for a company with crappy equipment; it’s another thing to pay $25,000+ a year to use RIT’s crap. State schools and other private institutions at half the cost have better computer and networking equipment than RIT. The rolling joke around school is that RIT is considered a school with “a lot of buck, but no bang.” That is so true. You’ll spend a lot of money here and for that money you’ll be treated like crap and get a very sub-par education. Don’t let RIT’s marketing department fool you, this place is bad and the education quality poor. Don't make the same mistake I did, go somewhere else. |
