Many times, the instructors would take extra time out to hold extra help sessions to allow us to gain a more comfortable feel for various clinical procedures. The teachers sought opportunities to clarify difficult concepts and did not want anyone to get left behind in the program. I think the strict rules that accompany the program help the college produce more prepared nurses. I feel well prepared to take my NCLEX-RN and start my work in the nursing world. We were tested based on NCLEX structured questions years 2-4. PCC has an extremely high passing rate for the examination the first time it is taken. Many people bash the college because of the "rules." I think a lot of it depends on your attitude. If you go into the school with a bad attitude, then you are going to be displeased by it. Overall, the majority of the students do not have a problem with the rules, mainly because everyone must abide by them, not just one individual person. If people would just understand that the rules are based on a utilitarianistic viewpoint, they would understand that the rules work best for all the people as a whole. |
