BU's a great school with a lot to offer, but there's a lot of little things that become very unerving. Most recently, it's the issue of grade deflation, which every professor seems to refuse to acknowledge. Second, while BU is very helpful at first, they're academic advising, at least in the history dept, is sub-par. I received almost no guidance from my advisor for both semesters, he seemed indifferent as to what classes I took. While a lot of students like BU, you can tell no one is completely satisfied; everyone has at least a few gripes. Academically, you'll find BU most likely not challenging enough, as most of the student body attend BU as a second-choice school. While it is a great school to start at, it might be better to work hard and then transfer to a higher-calibur institution. |
