BU bribed me into gonig there. they gave me tons of money and promised i'd be happy. they make themselves sound good by sprinkling a few noble prize winners here and there and paying for big-shot speakers every few weeks. they treat you to a nice catered meal in a heated tent at open house, give you tons of "free" plastic goodies, and build million dollar apartment-style dorms (that are IMPOSSIBLE to actually get into) to convince parents with bulging wallets that BU is a good deal. sure the communications department is supposedly the best in the country, but how do you believe that when the dean of the COM school is currently being investigated for lying about his achievements?but…if you like riding the T at 9 in the morning with hundreds of miserable, cold, wet, and uneducated students and going to a class with less than 20% turnout, go for it. BU is a good time if you get lucky and make friends with your floormates/roomates but otherwise, you can look forward to lonely nights, apathetic students/RAs/advisors, unfriendly upperclassmen, terrible extracurriculars, and a shitty daily newspaper that can't seem to spell any word right (they once misspelled "boston") save the money and buy a vacation house. or several BMWs. |
