Sometimes you may feel that the administration babies the students somewhat with certain programs and rules, but on the whole the positives far, far outweigh the negatives. The education quality is top notch; the school has recently been approved for accreditation candidacy by TRACS, and from what I understand that basically means that the school is accredited. I was valedictorian of my high school and am a Pre-Med major now; I am constantly pushed and challenged by the course work (a new experience for me, since I didn't have to crack a book in high school). The science faculty is excellent. Sometimes the school is accused of academic inbreeding; I don't know if that is true for other departments, but it is certainly not true for the science faculty. All of the professors have Ph.Ds from other universities. The students are friendly and approachable. I would advise visiting the school before applying to get a feel for the rules. They don't bother me at all for the most part. If it is God's will for you to come here don't hesitate. The university is a good place to grow spiritually as well. Overall, I would give Bob Jones a 9 out of 10. |
